Tuna e Hoe Ana

Every year our club holds a race regatta, Tuna e Hoe Ana, in the stunning alpine setting of Nelson Lakes National Park.

The regatta features a series of races on Lake Rotoiti, renowned for its fat eels (or tuna in Maori) and backdrop of bush and mountains.

The event draws crews from many other clubs and is listed on the Nga Kaihoe o Aotearoa race calendar. It's a unique waka ama race:

  • Exciting races for W6s, W1s and 2s and Stand Up Paddle boards
  • Races range from 10km to 20km.
  • Fun relay format to allow crew changes.
  • Water changeovers encouraged!
  • Spectator-friendly course

The next regatta is on Friday February 24 and Saturday February 25, 2012.
