Here's a message from Robert Kraak about the Kaiteriteri to Nelson paddle on Saturday, September 17:
Hi everyone
What a day Saturday was. I want to thank everyone for such a great day even though it did not end well for me. I am over the hypothermia now and feel great.
I am still wondering how Karen (Skilton) is (you're one tough cookie!)
Bring it on next year.. I am a bit sad that I could not say goodbye to you all. Thanks for being great sports. Remember it is not the winning but getting there first.
So if you ever venture to Auckland say hello etc.
You are always welcome.
Kind Regards
Rob
PS If you want to contact Robert here's his email.
Hi Robert, it was great to paddle with you - you brought our waka home first on the first leg (I was no. 5) - you are an awesome no.1!
Look forward to seeing you down here next year - We may see you in Auckland as our women's crew (Wahoo) hope to pull enough ladies together to do Takapuna Cup.
Will keep in touch!
Noho ora mai...Stay well!!

Hi Rob. Good to hear you have warmed up now. It was a pleasure to have you in the engine room for race (sorry, event) two.
